There are few things more satisfying in life than cooking a beautiful meal and sharing it with others. With this concept in mind, home cook Hetty McKinnon set up a community kitchen in her inner city terrace in Surry Hills (Sydney) in May 2011, cooking and delivering hearty, inventive home-cooked salads to hungry locals who live and work in the area. As a small, one-woman show, arthur street kitchen soon grew into one of the neighbourhood’s not-so-best-kept-secrets, captivating the taste buds and hearts of faithful local diners.
